The Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Chemical Sector Coordinating Council present VCAT: the Voluntary Chemical Assessment Tool
VCAT is a vital risk program that helps you with security decisions at your chemical facility.
By using this tool to increase local security we will increase our nation's security.
VCAT is built for chemical facility owners by chemical facility owners.
It is web-based and customizable, it is completely voluntary and free regardless of size of your facility.
With VCAT you can assess your current security measures, identify potential vulnerabilities, and analyze threats and risk to your facility.
You retain ownership of the data you enter and all aggregate data shared with the government is protected from public disclosure and regulation by the Protected Critical Infrastructure Information program.
VCAT enables owners and operators to: conduct scenario-based analysis of the effectiveness of their security measures, calculate potential costs, and identify benefits of investing in new security measures, and evaluate the return on investment.
VCAT allows you to analyze data by: facility characteristics and attributes, details of hazardous chemicals on site, man-made and natural threats of concern, and countermeasures currently in place.
You can also display vulnerability levels and risk score.
